Our Space Case Grinder Rating
Overall, the only thing that really prevents Space Case Grinders from getting close to a perfect score is the price.
However, considering all the features that makes them one of the best grinder brands, it can be easy to look past a slightly high price tag.

What Types of Grinders Does Space Case Offer?
Space Case Grinders come in 3 main types:
- 4-Piece Grinders
- 3-Piece Grinders
Both 4-piece and 2-piece grinders from Space Case come in 3 sizes based on diameter:
The 3.5” Grinders from Space Case are massive! These bad boys can carry a ton of herb, and do a great job grinding up huge nugs without clogging. They are also known for their consistent grounds and long-lasting teeth.
Between 2” and 2.5” is the normal size for a grinder. These models still are high performing herb grinders. Now, let’s explore each grinder they offer.
1. 4-Piece Space Case Grinders
The Space Case 4-Piece Grinder has your standard design, with a Kief catch. It also features:
- 60 Diamond shaped, razor-sharp teeth
- Anodized aluminum finish (scratch resistant)
- Made in the United States
- 2” tall
- Nylon O-rings
- Lid magnet
- Scraper tool
What We Like About Space Case 4-Piece Grinders
To be honest with you, I am not sure if there is a grinder on the market that shreds bud better. Space Case’s teeth design makes their products so effective and efficient that once you have purchased one, it is hard to buy from another brand.
On top of that, the fact that they come in a few different size options really sets them apart from the rest of the pack. The nylon o-ring in the design allows you to get the most out of your grinder, by preventing against the galling of your threads, which keep the grinder together.
Space Case also has great pollen screens that are durable, easy to clean, and just the right size, making them one of the best 4-piece grinders for Kief collection.
Lastly, I really like how heavy these grinders are. You can really feel the quality and durability when holding the product, and after dropping mine more than a few times, I can tell you that this bad boy can take a beating.
The one setback to all Space Case products is that they do not quite have a large variety of products in terms of color variations and designs. In fact, they only carry about a dozen different variations of their grinders at a given time.
2. 3-Piece Space Case Grinders
Three Piece Space Case grinders have all of the same features as their 4-piece brothers, with the exception of a few things:
- Tooth count – 48
- Only available in 2.5” sizes
- 1.6” tall
These grinders by Space Case are also available in both aluminum and titanium, and they share many of the same qualities as the 4-piece grinders; durability, quality, and ease of use.
What We Like About Space Case 3-Piece Grinders
Look, to say I like 3-piece grinders is like saying I like beats. Sure, I’ll eat them if I have to, but I’d rather not.
However, when it comes to comparing Space Case 3-piece grinders to the rest, they do have a substantial edge on a lot of popular grinder brands.
The reason is that their design makes them so sleek and easy to use, and with a $40 price tag, they are very affordable, especially when considering their long term value.
These grinders though smaller, actually hold more bud, with more room for it without a Kief catch. With 47 of the same razor-sharp diamond shaped teeth, this little guys might have the most shredding power of any 3-piece grinder on the market.
3. 2-Piece Space Case Grinders
Space Case 2-Piece Grinders are also quite impressive for their class, coming with the same amount of teeth and features as the 4-piece, but missing the Kief catch and bud chamber.
What We Like About Space Case 2-Piece Grinders
While basic, and not my preference of grinder, these small grinders don’t lack any power. With the same 60 tooth count, and a very good grip, these products are very easy to use, and hardly ever clog.
Much like the other grinders by Space Case, you can count on this grinder to be durable, long lasting, easy to use, and easy to fall in love with.
Overall, they are a bit high in price when compared to other 2-piece grinders. Despite their high quality, this can be a downside to this otherwise very solid product.
4. Space Case Titanium vs. Aluminum Grinders
Okay, so there is a lot of confusion out there about the Space Case Titanium Grinders. These products are not actually made from titanium, but are finished with what is called a “titanium black” finish, to give them a jet black appearance.
If you don’t believe me, you can check it on the Space Case website. With that conspiracy laid to rest, the only difference between the Space Case “Titanium” Grinders and their other models is the color – not the building material!
Space Case Grinders vs. Santa Cruz Shredder Grinders
For some reason, there seems to be a war between these two brands and their fan community online. A lot of people only swear by Santa Cruz Shredders, while others would never consider anything but a Space Case Grinder.
I find that this battle is due to the extremely high-quality products that both brands produce. If I had to pick one, I think I would still go with Space Case due to better tooth design, but that is probably the only factor.
Other than that, I guess you could make the counter-argument that because they are so similar in terms of quality, that you should choose the Santa Cruz Shredder to save a bit of money for virtually the same quality product.
To me, I am happy to use either. I don’t think you can really go wrong choosing either one of these amazing grinders, though my personal preference leans me more towards a Space Case.
Pros & Cons of Space Case Grinders
|Amazing teeth||Pretty expensive|
|Lots of size options||Not a lot of color and design options|
Final Review of Space Case Grinders: A
If it weren’t for the lack of a variety of colors and the high price point, I would have loved to give these guys an A+.
However, I think it is important to always be honest and take an open-minded approach towards reviews, considering all angles.
Overall, Space Case Grinders make amazing products. Their grinders are:
- Long lasting
- Made in the USA
- Scratch resistant
- Very efficient
- And easy to use
Having different size options is really one of the things that I think sets Space Case apart from a lot of other grinders out there.
The tooth design specifically makes Space Case Grinders some of the best on the market, and when you combine that with their strong seal, great screens, and long lasting threads, it is easy to see why they have such a loyal community and are considered as one of the best in the business.
You can’t go wrong grabbing one of these grinders, and we highly recommend that if it fits in your budget, you pick up one of these American made masterpieces for your collection.
